Parking is available at approximately 5-minute walking distance from race HQ. Please follow the signs and park as directed by the marshals.
VENUE FACILITIES
Course maps, toilets, limited changing facilities and showers, food and drinks, free camping. There will be no supervised bag storage.
RACE NUMBERS
You will need to pick up your race number from race HQ (in the marquee) before the race. This number will be used for all 3 races over the weekend so do not lose it. Replacement numbers will cost £1. This year we will be using chip timing and the chips are attached to the back of the race number. Do not bend the chip!
THERE IS NO ON THE DAY ENTRY FOR THE COLWORTH 5.
Late entry for the Trail and Half are available in the marquee up to an hour before the race starts.
NUMBER TRANSFER
We do not provide refunds if you decide not to run but if you want to transfer your entry to someone else then please do so on the entry page on the SI Entries website (a week before the race) or at the registration desk in the marquee.
AGE LIMIT
The age limit for the Colworth 5 is 16 and over. The age limit for the Trail 8.1 and for the Half Marathon is 18 and over.
MARSHALS AND FIRST AID
The Colworth Marathon Challenge is officially a non-marshalled event, so even though there will be marshals at vital points around each course and plenty of signage, we suggest you familiarise yourself with the routes beforehand. See courses page for route maps.
First Aid support will be provided at the event centre during the three races.
COVID
Whether you are a runner, marshal, spectator or coming along for the entertainment, you should not attend if you are testing positive for COVID, if you are self-isolating or if you are awaiting a COVID test result.
MEMENTOS AND AWARDS
There will be no medal for the Colworth 5. Instead, to improve our sustainability, a photographer will take pictures of all runners and these will be available to download free of charge – links from this site. There will be mementos for the Trail 8.1 and the Half Marathon and an additional prize for completing the 3 races. A whisky glass is awarded to anyone completing their 5th marathon challenge (all 3 races) and a tankard for 10 years.

CAMPING
The top end of the sports field is available for camping from Friday to Sunday free of charge. A toilet block is available and showers are inside the club house.
Dogs are allowed but must be under control at all times, and the owner is responsible for clearing up after them. Failure to do so will mean we will have to ban dogs in future.
DOGS
Dogs are welcome on the sports field but must be under control at all times and all mess cleaned up.
Dogs on a short lead, starting at the back of the field are allowed for the Colworth 5 on Friday (maximum one dog per runner).
Sorry, running with dogs is not permitted for the Trail 8.1 on Saturday and the Half Marathon on Sunday.
FOOD AND ENTERTAINMENT
There will be family entertainment on Friday, starting from 5pm – Including funfair stalls and rides, sports club stalls, activities for pre-schoolers, food stalls and more. Each runner will receive two free wrist bands to access the rides. Additional wrist bands will be available for purchase (£5 each). Donations towards our charities will be highly appreciated.
There will be a Live Music Event on Saturday, from 4pm to 10pm. Each runner will receive a free entry. Additional tickets will be available for purchase (£5 each).
Food and drinks will be available for purchase on all three days.
KIDS RACES
Kids races (U16) will start from 6pm (listen out for announcements). There is no entry fee and all finishers will receive a medal.
- Pre-schoolers – 50 metres
- School years R, 1, 2 – 100 metres
- School years 3, 4, 5, 6 – 150 metres
- Everyone else – 2 kilometres
MARSHALS
The event relies on a huge team of volunteers. If you are available at any point over the weekend to marshal, set up or take down courses etc, then please come and find us in the marquee or e-mail colworthstriders@hotmail.com.
